Учение было нацелено на сохранение национального самосознания и одновременно заимствование у белых людей полезных достижений. Во время Войны за независимость [ Revolutionary War] был союзником англичан, в знак солидарности с ними носил красный мундир [ redcoat], подаренный ему английским офицером. Боролся против уступок индейских земель Соединенным Штатам и попыток приобщить индейцев к культуре белых. В англо-американской войне 1812-14 [ War of 1812] воевал на стороне США. Лидер т.н. языческой фракции, противостоявшей как христианству, так и религии Прекрасного озера [ Handsome Lake Code]. 4 Tonawanda Reservation
Находится в штате Нью-Йорк, занимает площадь 31 кв. км. Существует с 1797. Здесь в 1970-е жили 850 индейцев племени сенека [ Seneca]. Местная община - единственная в США община сенека, остающаяся членом лиги ирокезов [ Iroquois]. В резервации популярна игра лакросс [ lacrosse], организуется несколько плясок в течение года, в том числе в индейский Новый год (через 5 дней после январского новолуния), в августе проводится традиционный съезд.
